Supporting ELA

The European Leukodystrophy Association (ELA), sponsored by Zinedine Zidane, is a French non-profit organization governed by the French Law of 1901 that was founded in 1992 and recognized as an establishment of public interest on November 13, 1996.

ELA brings together patients suffering from leukodystrophy—a rare disease that attacks the nervous system—and their families.

Bringing the media on board

The magazine Born Designers and the Akuo Foundation have teamed up to organize events that feature celebrities committed to the fight against leukodystrophy. The goal of these athletic events, in which such celebrities as French soccer player Zinedine Zidane take part, is to raise money for the association, partly via paid registrations for those competing and partly through active fundraising during the actual events.
